This website
This site sets no cookies. It runs no analytics and no tracking of any kind. It loads nothing from anybody else, so no third party learns that you visited. The fonts, the pictures and the small amount of code that runs the menu are all served from the same place as the pages themselves.
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include the address your request came from, the page you asked for and the time you asked for it. That is a normal part of running a website. Those logs are kept for thirty days and then deleted, and we do not use them to build a picture of anybody.
The contact form
The form on the contact page does not transmit anything to this website. When you press the button, your own email programme opens with the message already written in it. Nothing is sent until you send it, and if you change your mind and close it, nothing has left your device.
Once you do send it, we hold what you wrote in our email account. We use it to reply to you and to keep track of the conversation. We do not add you to any marketing emails, because we do not send any.
If you become a member
We hold a small amount of information about members, all of which you give us knowingly:
- Your name, email address, phone number and an emergency contact.
- Anything you have told us about injuries, conditions or medication that affects how we coach you.
- Your training log, which is the record of what you lifted.
- Payment records, which our payment provider processes on our behalf. We never see or hold your card details.
We keep this while you are a member and for two years afterwards, in case you come back and want your training history. Records we are required to keep for tax purposes are kept for seven years and then destroyed.
Who else sees it
Nobody, apart from our payment provider, who needs enough to take the payment, and our accountant, who sees the financial records. We do not sell information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not pass anything to anybody else without asking you first.
If you ask us to speak to your physiotherapist or doctor, we will, and only about what you have asked us to discuss.
What you can ask for
You can ask us for a copy of everything we hold about you, ask us to correct anything wrong, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@gainunited.com and we will do it within a month, usually within a few days. There is no charge.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You are also entitled to complain to the United Kingdom's data protection regulator.
Changes to this policy
If we change it, we will change the date at the top. If a change is significant, members will be told by email rather than left to notice.
