Where to start

If you are about to begin

Read what to do in your first month first. It is the oldest thing on this site and the one we send people most often.

Then learning to squat, because it is the lift you will meet first and the one people arrive with the most second hand opinions about. After a few weeks, how much weight to add each week will start to be the question you are asking.

If something specific brought you here, go straight to it: training with a bad back, training in your fifties, or training around a busy life.
